Who was your most influential mentor and what did they teach you?

My mentor (in terms of graphic design) is AGI member Robert Appleton, my college advisor. He gave me the opportunity to put my skills to work on his book. He helped me fine-tune the technical aspect of my design; converting file-types, image sizes, dpi, typesetting, etc.
