What do you want to do when you grow up?
I want to be known for my work. It seems that in this day and age it is slightly easier to get known as an artist sooner in life rather than after or close to death. However, alot of people aren't really just buying art anymore. They are more inclined to comission work, which I believe defeats the entire purpose of what we call Fine Art. Unlike Graphic Art, Fine Art is created with the intent to please no one but the artist her/himself; and if people happen to like it or feel inspired by it, they buy it. With Graphic Design its all about what the client wants, and thats fine. That is it's purpose in the professional world. Another sad aspect of art-buying these days is many people would rather buy prints than an original. An original, I feel, is much more exciting to own. You know that you own the one and only, the original birth of an idea, right in your own home.
