What advice do you have for someone who wants a job like yours?

Study hard. Learn your fundamentals and get to know your technology. Brush up on your people skills and learn how to translate your concepts and ideas in layman's terms because clients don't speak Technobabble. Most importantly, do what you do because you love it and for the sake of doing it above all else.
