* Developed algorithm to identify specific decays of the B meson in order to make a precision statistical measurement of a particle physics parameter. Used fitting methods and detector modeling to extract signal from 27 million events recorded in a 22,000-channel detector. Performed detailed study of systematic errors, reducing largest uncertainty from previous measurement by a factor of 3. * Overhauled Monte Carlo simulation of scintillation detector, decreasing discrepancy with data by a factor of 10. Developed algorithm to improve resolution of data from this detector. * Analyzed cosmic ray data to evaluate performance of readout electronics on a prototype wire detector. Optimized final detector design using simulation software.
