Richard was involved in strategic technical consulting engagements with key clients where there was a need for broad based knowledge of Internet technology, security architectures, and vendor technology directions. His engagements include:
Transport Canada
Development of customized network analysis tools for the Transport Canada Internetwork (TCI). This tool set is written in VBScript and utilizes an SQL backend database. The objective is to document all knowledge of TCI users, applications and communication pathways to develop a model of application traffic flow across the TCI. This model will be used to engineer more efficient bandwidth and assist in the engineering of new sites.
DND DTSES 2-4/PM DWAN ECP
Delivered a business case study, which addressed the benefits of providing controlled desktop Internet access to DWAN users. The study surveyed 16 functional areas and provided summaries of changes to productivity, savings to business plans, and changes to competitiveness.
