What's the secret to getting hired at Freelance / Self employed?

The secret is a good reputation and following the "golden rule". I always treat my clients with the same respect and attention I would expect from a photographer, graphic designer, or digital artist. I'm always on time, I answer and return phone calls promptly, and I follow through until the client is happy.
