What's the secret to getting hired at Verizon (formerly Bell Atlantic)?

I found the work at Verizon challenging and forever changing. You had the opportuntity to interact with people from all over the United States. You had to be flexible and willing to multi task. With Verizon merging with other telecommunication companies, the challenge was merging the different information databases into one system.
