What are five lesser-known perks at After School Programs?

I don't know about five perks, but one was the reward(s) for perfect attendance. I believe a month or three months of consecutive perfect attendance would enter you in a drawing for gift certificates to some popular restaurant.

What's a typical day like at After School Programs?

Upon arriving, one would set up their tables and snacks for the particular grade one was in charge of. Afterwards, attendance is taken as the children arrive. After snack, one would gravitate hourly to a set of planned activities (recreational time, reading, arts and crafts, etc). At around 5:00 PM, everyone was brought indoors as they awaited their parent's arrival. Employees would each perform their scheduled weekly "chore" if they hadn't done so earlier.... read more

What do people wear to work at After School Programs?

When I first began, it was simply a gray uniform t-shirt with one's choice of pants. I believe it was during my third year there that they implemented a true uniform consisting of a maroon collared shirt (that had to be tucked in) with khaki pants.

Strangely, I wasn't formally interviewed when I applied. I simply walked in to one of the many sites and applied there. Never once did I receive a formal introduction.
