What's the secret to getting hired at Albertson's Grocerey Store?

You must "bleed blue", the stores color. My 35 years in the grocery business, 31 with Lucky Store and the remaining with Albertson's. They are very demanding, over worked and un-rewarding company. I ended up there due to a buy out. If I had my choices my career would have finished with Lucky's. If it wasn't for the great benefits, I would not have lasted that long. As it was I was able to retire at 51 years old. Things are a lot easier now.... read more

. PROMPLY HELPED ALL CUSTOMERS WHEN NEEDED.IN ADDITION TO COUNTING MONEY AND RUNNING A REGISTER. DID ALL PHASES OF WHATEVER NEEDED TO BE DONE AROUND THE STORE

How would you describe what you did at Albertson's Grocerey Store?

I took this as a second job right before my daughter was born. It provided us with a little extra cash, and good insurance to take care of our medical needs. Working at this small, but very busy neighbohood store really exposed me to a very wide slice of humanity, and I learned a lot about really building relationships with customers, as many of ours would come in to the store every night, gettin the goods needed for the night and the next day. It also reminded me about humility, and not to underestimate the guy bagging your groceries or ringing up your gas.... read more
