What was your major and how applicable is it to your position at Ann Taylor?

My major was Textile Design & Marketing with a marketing concentration. This major was very applicable to my position at Ann Taylor. I was studying apparel, textiles and the retailing industry and also gaining hands on experience as an AnnTaylor employee.

What are the most challenging aspects of your job at Ann Taylor?

The most challenging thing about working in operations was time management. There were many things to do each day behind the scenes to keep the store organized and running smoothly as well as managing the sales floor. Luckily I am good at time management and was able to exicute everything sucessfully.... read more

How would you describe what you did at Ann Taylor?

Assistant Manager responsible for all aspects of the store operation. Primary resonsibility was conducting store audits, inventory control (including all shipping, transfers, and receiving), maintaining all store files (including all shipping documents, employee files, store audits, loss prevention documents, supply orders, and store use forms), training all associates on sales, loss prevention, safety and Ann Taylor standards, managed sales floor and the productivity of sales associates, customer service, opening and closing the store, daily deposits, and helping other stores when they needed extra help with floor management or operation problems.... read more
