Experiences at Antipolo Immaculate Conception School

The Antipolo Immaculate Conception School hired me principally because the administrators already heard about my competence in teaching English as a subject long before I resigned from the school where I first landed a teaching job. The administrators had also watched me emceeing in the 40th anniversary program of the school where I first taught. They were impressed by the way I speak....

I gave my students ample training that improved their skills in writing, speaking, reading as well as listening. Proof of this was the very high marks they got in the National Career Assessment Test administered by the Department of Education here in Manila. Two of my students got 95+ percentile rank in Reading Comprehension, the others got marks also in the 90's and 80's. In Verbal Ability, the highest percentile rank garnered by one of my students was 98 percentile rank, followed by 97 percentile rank, then 96 and so on.

I shared with my superiors suggestions on how to continually improve the students' skills in reading and speaking.

I devoted extra time in giving selected students training on Campus journalism.

I gave the non-English teachers exercises meant to improve their knowledge of the English Grammar....
