As a Chaplains Assistant I was able to work with many different units throughout the world. These units included medical groups, infantry, service and supply (water, food and fuel providers), and many others. The next great thing about working as a Chaplains Assistant was the extensive opportunity to counsel junior Soldiers, peers, and seniors on everything from career progression and development to personal issues that arose. Often issues of sexual harassment, equal opportunity, or just simple supervisory disagreements could be addressed and turned around into positive team building situations. The third thing I would note as a tremendous benefit to having worked in this position was the many training opportunities that I was able to participate in and lead as we prepared our teams for crisis intervention, suicide awareness training, basic Slodier skills, marksmanship, program management, volunteer coordination, and many other things we found ourselves involved in....
