Experiences at Berbee Information Networks Corp. (Application Development Group)

The Application Development Group. My whole time at Berbee has been with the same group, and it was just disbanded.

Coworkers, clients, and supervisor. If I do well, things go well for them, too.

Learn who the really sharp people are in your own technical area and in other related areas, and then don't be afraid to ask questions. Most of the technical folks are willing to help, but they are busy so they won't unless you ask.

The business aspects of information technology. I started out as a software engineer, but now I'm estimating projects and helping clients figure out the busines case for doing a project or not. Understanding the client's business helps you put together a much better technical solution, and the requirements are less likely to change halfway through....

The company is growing rapidly, and its recent acquisition by CDW will continue that. Berbee now has an associate program for people trying to break into the IT profession.
