I was hired by Butler Service Group to design the first fibre optics projects for New York Telephone Company in 1980. I designed 27 Class A estimates, all approved estimates. I've never designed a project that wasn't approved. A Class A estimate is a project consisting of expenditures of more than $750,000.00

Most of my responsibilities at Butler were for projects with expenditures of $2,000,000.00 and above. These were major undertakings and required many years of experience in all disciplines of the telephone industry, including outside plant and central office engineering.

I was hired from Butler Service Group by NYNEX in 1984, but left soon after new management at the telephone company didn't care to learn the new technology and requested that all projects be engineered for copper cables. It was a big mistake by the management and they have all told me so, since that time.

I moved on to work for an aerospace and electronics company called Rockwell International. You may have heard of them, they built the space shuttle as we know it today and the B2 bomber amoung many other high tech items.

In 1986, I received the Rockwell MVP (Most Valuable Player) award for my redesign of a few Rockwell Telecommunications products. The redesigned Rockwell products revolutionized the telephone company operations and set a hallmark for others to follow. Rockwell had to double the size of their manufacturing facility in Downers Grove, Illinois and hire a second shift to keep up with the orders shipping to New York.

I am happily retired now and have no regrets of my career choices. I was very happy working as a Senior Project Engineer for Butler Service Group. If you have skills and the experience to back it up, then Butler Service Group is a very good company to work for.
