How would you describe what you did at C-bridge Internet Solutions?

Responsible for planning and execution of all
knowledge management initiatives, specifically replacing the company's manually
maintained Intranet and Extranet sites with Intraspect e-Collaboration Server (now known as Vignette Collaboration), a Windows NT-, IIS-, Objectivity-, and Verity-based
"fat" portal solution. This included:

* Business Analysis:
o Assessing the state of content workflows and technologies via staff
interviews and observations
o Researching available technologies via the web and published
materials and recommending possible solutions (e.g., portals, search
engines, document management systems, groupware applications)
o Evaluating specific technologies and their respective vendors
o Recommending a shortlist of solutions and vendors
o Writing (MS Word and Excel) a detailed RFP including all business
and technical requirements
o Coordinating final demonstrations to steering committee
o Scoring and analyzing final technical, business, and cost proposals
o Participating in the due diligence process for the selected vendor
Coordinating contract negotiations and final contracts and acting as the vendor liaison
o Specifying local and vendor-supplied customizations to the user
interface and functionality

* Project Management
o Testing and experimenting with the selected software to determine
optimum implementation strategy
o Developing an project plan (MS Project) in conjunction with IT for
implementing and rolling out the portal to the organization
o Building, training, and coordinating a network of business area content managers to migrate and maintain portal content

* Support
o Writing audience-specific documentation including administration
manuals, user guides, online help, FAQs, and weekly company-wide
correspondence
o Providing in-person and online (Centra Symposium) training sessions
for existing and new staff
o Providing in-person, phone, email, and discussion group support for
the portal application

* Knowledge Management and Administration
o Coordinating the development of a flexible top-down taxonomy to
organize the portal content
o Developing and administering corporate and departmental taxonomy
structure, metadata sets, and ontology vocabulary
o Developing and enforcing knowledge and content management
policies
o Managing Intranet and Extranet sites including establishing of user
accounts, security profiles, and collaboration space
o Administering Outlook/Exchange public folders
