Experiences at CCL Container

The best team I worked with was the inspection group in our Carrollton, KY manufacturing facility. Most of the inspectors had only a high-school education, and had limited math skills. Through dedicated effort, we were able to turn a rudimentary inspection/detection system into an effective prevention-based SPC system. This improvement drastically reduced customer complaints and product returns, while at the same time improving internal performance....

One of my favorite projects was leading our laminate tube manufacturing plant through the ISO 9000 process. Working with a cross-functional team, we redesigned the quality system to assure compliance to both ISO and GMP requirements. The plant achieved certification on the first attempt, and more importantly, enjoyed significantly improved business results....
