What are the most challenging aspects of your job at Castleberry Foods?

The most challenging aspects had to do with the tools we had to work with at times. Being that it was a smaller manufacturer that competed in a flat or declining category we often didn't have the tools necessary to compete in the larger arena. How would you describe what you did at Castleberry Foods?

I managed teams of food brokers that ranged from 6 to 13 at different times. The difference wa that over time my geography was essentially dobled from what it was when I started.
I put together plans and managed large amounts of promotional funds that with our food brokers allowed us to compete
in a very tough canned meat business.
Although the regions business was only about $6MM we had to be extremely creative and dedicated to beat our competition and get more than our fair share of activity, volume, and share of market.
