What are the three best things about working at Christopher Newport University?

Directly supports Executive Assistant to the President with merges from the database, mass mailings, presentations, Board of Visitors meetings, and President's schedule.
Coordinates and assists with many presidential functions; arranges catering, scheduling, invitations, RSVP's, Guests lists,
works with plant ops for set up. Functions would consist of commencement, groundbreakings, Christmas parties, Press conferences, Presidential Leadership Programs and round table events; performing arts events (Friends of Music, Ella Concert), and dignitary visits.
Assists with the VSLF (Virginia student leadership foundation) with correspondence to students, arranging financial aid, coordinating student's registration and appreciation dinners.
Assists with travel arrangements for President; research time differences, money exchange, passports, prior approvals, and travel reimbursements.

What's the toughest problem you've had to solve at Christopher Newport University?

Assists with the VSLF (Virginia student leadership foundation) with correspondence to students, arranging financial aid, coordinating student's registration and appreciation dinners.

Arranging a Coop program between the Newport News public schools and CNU to have the Baccaulaureate students
utilize the university's library. They had to be issued cards, letters, etc.; the library needed to be informed as to who had access. I coordinated this program.... read more

I possess exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and communication (oral and written) skills which allow me to effectively communicate with a variety of constituents, including faculty, staff, students, administrators at the university; guests of the University's President, dignitaries, and the Board of Visitors.... read more

Database manager - entry, updates, queries and reporting of president's database. Training other office personnel and database implementation.
Directly supports Executive Assistant to the President with merges from the database, mass mailings, presentations, Board of Visitors meetings, and
President's schedule.
Coordinates and assists with many presidential functions; arranges catering, scheduling, invitations, RSVP's, Guests lists, works with plant ops for set up.
