Experiences at City of Grosse Pointe Woods

I was a full time lifeguard during the summer between the ages of 15 through 21. I was just recently recertified in CPR and Rescue Breathing, First aid and Lifeguard training for the professional rescuer. The position involved many miscellaneous tasks. Also I watched and guarded patrons int he pool and performed rescues and gave first aid when necessary. It also involved enforcing the rules of the pool, the water slides, the rock climbing wall, the diving boards, and the baby pools. This was an outdoor pool and employs over a hundred lifeguards every year due to its'large size.

This job taught me to be alert as well as how to be ready and willing to go along with the unexpected....
