What's unique about working at Clever Girl Designs?

Working for myself has been rewarding on so many levels. For one thing, instead of one "boss," every client becomes who you work for. I welcome that change every day, making different clients happy every day. I also love the changes in projects, since I am a chronic multi-tasker, it's great for me to balance a few different things to focus on. Sometimes I solve one design problem while working on another!

When running your own business, you really wear a multitude of different hats, whether they fall under your skill set or not. What better way to get to know yourself than by the challenges of setting up a new corporation, talking to accountant about finances, or collecting a past due invoice? Once you've managed every aspect of a business, you really learn not just your strengths and weaknesses but what you enjoy the most.

How would you describe what you did at Clever Girl Designs?

Work in conjunction with company owners to conceptualize and produce highly effective designs to promote brand awareness and company image. Single-handedly manage aspects of photography, image scanning, and manipulations. In charge of designing, maintaining corporate sites. Redesign marketing materials including brochures, business cards, trade show materials, print and web advertising, catalogs, flyers, etc for various types of companies.

* Developed new way for Leisure Fitness to present their facility layouts to potential clients
* Created advertising and marketing materials for both retail and non-profit programs where none previously existed.
* Developed marketing strategy for a boutique hotel to accept reservations online for the first time, as well as increased their web presence.
