Experiences at Corbis

Very funny, but too embarrassing to post on the web. Ask me in person sometime though, it's a great story. :)

Well, our own, of course. I manage the SnapVillage blog so I read it very frequently. We also watch microstock diaries, stockphototalk, and others.

My entire team! The SnapVillage team is actually quite small. We all go out after work together once in a while and always have a great time.

Actually, it found me. A recruiter found my resume on Monster.

I learned something new every day at Corbis. Seriously. I know a lot of people say that, but I really did deal with a new question from a user, a new site problem, or a completely new task every day. I love it!

I got hired at Corbis because I am a hard workworker, quick learner,highly organized and able to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a positive attitude. Also, I am dependable, conistent, team player and have a personal style of responsibility.

Coordinate and perform the production of the submitted content by creating a session, create analog and digital batch. Correct content name, celebrity name, publication date, magazine name and embargo period is entered through computer database, ensuring 100% accuracy to comply with contract and other legal requirements. Upload digital images to the server for production. Ensure all image orders are sent to photographer in accurate timely manner.
Assist Editing Department by scanning images for all Low Resolution requested by Sales Department. Maintain a strong relationship with editor in order to manage correct process of content. Perform final quality web check of images; ensuring images are published to the Corbis site in a timely matter. Provide and support Sales Department by generating correct invoices in accurate timely manner. Support the Customer Service Department to continue the Digital and Catalog fulfillment. Coordinate the handling, tracking and shipping of physical and digital intellectual property. UPS, DHL or messenger service. All courier reports are completed and printed by the end of the day. Handle all incoming packages from various courier (i.e.: FedEx, UPS, DHL, USPS). Notify recipient for delivery arrival via e-mail....

Responsible for managing the travel, nature & wildlife, science & medicine and editorial feature stock photography content at Corbis. Including managing a team of photo editors, finding and signing photographers and photo agencies to provide images to Corbis. Also responsible for outreach to key customers in these areas, particularly users of travel photography....

The secret is being willing to accept and adapt to change, willingness to work hard, willingness to work in diverse environments.

- Managed all Corbis Artist Representation production in the Americas. Initiated and managed the in-house production business, created materials and templates, developed vendor deals, established relationships. Produced various commercial campaigns with award winning photographers.
- Analyzed workflow and implemented procedures for smarter, more effective and efficient use of existing and new tools. Managed financial, material and human resources of our organization.
- Created budgets for specific assignments and liaised with clients and photographers to be certain all budget parameters were accurate and understood prior to initiating production.
- Developed solutions for clients by understanding all their assignment needs, discussing the most suitable photographers for these needs, providing portfolios for review and offering suggestions and creative direction, as well as providing estimates of production costs and fee structure.
- Participated in the development of strategies and workflows for Artist Representation's new Global division.
- Helped promote the Artist Representation division, maintained close dialogue and worked collaboratively with marketing. Lead various promotional projects and initiatives. (Created DVDs, promo cards, presentations, gallery shows, competition submissions, newsletters, announcements, brochures, the website etc.)...
