When a person applies at Dillard's they need to be dressed professionally and well groomed.

The working environment is beautiful, the merchandises are of very best quality, and the management are compassionte and gentle about its employees.

The most challenging aspect of the job, since it was commission sales, was overcoming objections. Once you learn how to overcome objections, it becomes a very satisfying, and profitable, experience.

I worked in the Ladies Shoe Department. My primary function was to make sure that every customer I encountered had a meaningful experience in the store. However, specifically to the department, it was required that I sale ladies shoes and subsequent products associated with shoes i.e. shoe polish, shoe pads, shoe stretchers....

The key element was not taking for granted that because it was a retail job that casual dress would be okay for the application process. It matters what you wear no matter what stage of the process.

To learn to balance your job responsibilities. Customers, maintaining the sales floor, register, sales, supporting other associates. All job responsibilties must compliment eachother.

Gave exceptional customer service, operated registers, replenished sales floor, pricing, setting sales event in department, organized stockroom.
