What's the secret to getting hired at Dragonuk Connects -- Casting?

I think most actors in the area know the value of the Dragonuk resources - it's well establish fact by now. So let me speak from the other side a moment; as a Producer/Director and Casting Professional. When I am looking for talent for my productions, it's a no-brainer that Dragonuk is a first-string resource. Before I even go through my own headshot files, I will have put out a notice on Dragonuk's newsletter. That is, if he hasn't already picked up on it and put it out first - the guy is fast and thorough.

But he also publishes an indutry newsletter for those of us behind the scenes with info on crew, jobs, equipment and opportunites. As it is for actors, if you're looking to crew up, or find production work, Dragonuk's newsletter should be a first stop.

And it's worth repeating: Dragonuk's efforts are a labor of love, not profit. So you know the focus is on what's truely best for the industry and his subscribers - not who paid the most.

What's the secret to getting hired at Dragonuk Connects -- Casting?

A fellow actor referred me to Dragonuk's newsletter and it's been one of the BEST advice I've gotten since I started my acting career last year. Since then, I've been cast in 5 plays and one film and this is just within 6 months of subscribing to the newsletter! Brian Dragonuk's newsletters keeps you informed and up to date as to what's happening in the theatre/film/production world. I have since referred his newsletters to several friends of mine and they still thank me to this day!... read more

What's the secret to getting hired at Dragonuk Connects -- Casting?

I've been in the DC Baltimore area for 1 year, and have been on Dragonuk's lists for almost as long. I must say 90% of the acting work I get around town comes as a direct result of audition listings I found on his email lists. I've even found work as far away as Richmond, VA where I was in the film, "No Nerds at NASA" which was shot this summer. There is a wealth of opportunities on Brian's lists and I give a heart-felt thanks to him for all that he does!... read more

What's the secret to getting hired at Dragonuk Connects -- Casting?

My service, "Stage Armament Solutions", provides free to community theatre and student films prop weapons and blank-firing guns loans, and related safety training. Through the Dragonuk newsletters I have made several connections to groups that made use of what I offer, as well as a few casting opportunities, useful workshops, and a couple of film credits.... read more

What's the secret to getting hired at Dragonuk Connects -- Casting?

Brians newsletter is a very informative, non-invasive and free way to know all castings that are happening in the DC area. Anyone who thinks DC isn't an actor's town hasn't received this newletter. He also provides occasional updates for photographers and casting/modeling agencies with contact information included. I am currently a very part time actress and have been fortunate to stay as busy as I want, and all my jobs have been found through Brian's newsletter. I was even lucky enough to work a job Brian was working on also. All you need to do to get hired is read the newsletter and respond to jobs that you are qualified for, then go for it!... read more

What's the secret to getting hired at Dragonuk Connects -- Casting?

The secret is to read Brian Dragonuk's newsletter - by far the best way to get acting work in the DC area. I have been receiving his newsletter for years and have found it to be an excellent way to network, get valuable information about the industry, and secure work as a performer. Brian is unbelievably generous with his time and his free newsletter has proved to be an invaluable resource to local performers. It includes a variety of industry-related topics such as headshot photographers, securing an agent, self-marketing, and of course upcoming auditions. I am very grateful to him for all the work that goes into providing this outstanding service.... read more

What's the secret to getting hired at Dragonuk Connects -- Casting?

It more about CONFIDENCE and FAITH in yourself when DRAGONUK CONNECTS arrives in your inbox. The very first Connect Newsletter I received, I auditioned for a background role in Prayer Life, Frank Jackson, Director. Last year, I saw myself on screen in that movie. It was an in-describable and incredible feeling of achievement moving from theatre to film from my very first audition in film. I realized, my God-given gift + Dragonuk Connects equals work in film and theatre. I just completed working in the annual production A Revels' Christmas, sold out shows at the Lisner Auditorium (auditions listed in Dragonuk Theatre Newsletter). I have worked great work for great artists and have met phenomenal actors along the way - ALL from auditions I had from Dragonuk Connects Newsletters. Thank you Brian =0)... read more

What's the secret to getting hired at Dragonuk Connects -- Casting?

Brian Dragonuk's page is the one and only thing that I can depend on. It's always been my dream as an artist to support myself consistently as an artist. Unfortunately, not quite there yet... but Brian keeps me working when I think there are no possibilities or when I think there's nothing for me to do. And I'm sure that if I followed each and every lead that he posted that I qualified for I'd probably be a full time paid working actor. I pray this service that he provides never goes away. I refer everyone looking for work and talent to Brian.... read more
