I went through a staffing agency, and worked for Duratek through them for 12 weeks before I was hired with Duratek.

What advice would you give to a new employee at Duratek Precast Technologies?

Keep your work and your personal life separate if possible. There isn't really and gossip there, it's just some things should be kept to yourself, especially if you want to work hard and succeed.

What did you learn along the way at Duratek Precast Technologies?

I learned alot at Duratek. I started off as a Part Time receptionist and worked my way up almost becoming Office Manager there. I performed many tasks/duties. I learned everything from general Office, Human resources, Purchasing and Expediting, Inventory Control, Payroll, Reports, Excel, and also Logistics and scheduling of loads and dispatching. How would you describe what you did at Duratek Precast Technologies?

Answered incoming phone calls and directed to appropriate associates
Received employment applications and forwarded them to the appropriate supervisors
Completed new hire human resource forms
Verified and inputted payroll hours into spreadsheet and submitted the information to the Payroll
Department
Submission of pay raise, new hires, and terminations to HR manager and Payroll Department
Health Insurance, Dental, 401K paperwork
Data entry
Compiled information to prepare numerous weekly reports for Vice President and Plant Manager
Ordered and distributed office supplies
Handled petty cash expenses and reports
Maintained Inventory File
Assisted Transportation and Logistics Department as needed
