How would you describe what you did at EDS (Electronic Data Systems)?

My job duties varied a lot - it was never dull. When I first transitioned to EDS I was actually living in France! The project I was on, System One Direct Access, was a product that was used by travel agents to book flights on many airlines. The product was also sold to other airline systems worldwide and I was part of a large group of programmers that helped Amadeus Development Corporation in Nice, France, install the system. After returning I worked on an airline ticketing application and a financial services application. The financial services application is where I started working with CMM and became a process improvement expert and a project management subject matter expert. That experience carried me forward into working for the corporate project office as a project management subject matter expert, a certified project manager and a certified CMMi V1.2 assessment team member.... read more

What's the secret to getting hired at EDS (Electronic Data Systems)?

I was a transitioned employee. My former employer, System One Corporation (formerly the Eastern Airlines computer center), contracted with EDS to do a portion of their computer operations. As part of the agreement, System One employees were directly hired by EDS.
