The golf facility was owned by Jack Nicklaus and Bob Sierra at the time, both very shrewd businessmen. I approached this as a business where some of the other candidates looked at golf as a recreation. I talked about the number of member rounds and the current number of Monday outing rounds booked and how I would increase those rounds. I was new to running a tour event but also used the same strategy by looking at the number of spectators coming through the gates versus the number of retail dollars and convinced them that it should yield higher sales per person.... edit | delete...
