What's the secret to getting hired at Entellium?

None of the people below are actually employed at Entellium any longer. Entellium is big on telling itself it is a world class company and hires world class professionals, but they are also a clearing house for talent. Once you have fulfilled your role you are no longer of any use and suddenly their is a "cultural paradigm shift". PJ likes to mention how this is his 4th company, but you have to wonder what happened to all the employees at his previous companies... In the last year (2008) they have laid off at least 30 people from Director level down, and some new hires don't even make it past the first couple weeks before they realize they have been fed a load of crap and quit.
The products don't work as advertised, there is a HUGE communication and technical gap between the Malaysian tech group and the US "idea" group, and the open door policy is a crock because there is never anyone on the other side of the door unless they are entertaining outsiders or trying to figure out how to squeeze the working force down a bit more.
Very disappointing company to work for... They DO pay VERY well, but you may only be paid for a little while before you are downsized...
Most of the positive press you read about entellium is because 50 percent of the staff is Marketting and they are using themselves to spin a positive flow on the company... They will either never make it and it will be PJ's greatest failure, or they will trick someone into buying the company and the new company will be screwed... and PJ will drive off into the sunset in his Maserati...

What are five lesser-known perks at Entellium?

1). Employee satisfaction comes first! That's not lip service, it's the company's actual primary goal, one notch higher than customer satisfaction. How can you quibble with that? 2). We are encouraged to think big and "see no boxes." 3). Our operating style is CHIFF - Creative, High Quality, Innovative, Fun and Friendly. 4). The unflappable Karen and imperturbable Jane in the front office. 5). The never-ending supply of protein bars, gorp and free drinks (including Red Bull).... read more

What are the three best things about working at Entellium?

#1 is definitely the people. Everybody that works here is amazingly smart and friendly and fun. It makes it easy to be excited to come to work in the morning. #2 is the location. Being right in the heart of Downtown Seattle in Pioneer Square is great. There are tons of places to go to get food and drinks and hang out and everything's in walking distance. #3 is boring; but important! We all get either free parking or a bus pass (whichever you prefer) and a health club membership. You really get the feeling that the company wants you to be happy and healthy and that they are taking care of your needs.... read more
