After several years working for one company and slowly climbing the ranks, I felt it was time to try out something new. I left Sport Chalet and went to Foot Locker as an MIT. I really learned a lot about what actually goes into running a store: analyzing labor, controlling inventory, shrink, returns, and adjusting labor usage to match sales trends. Foot Locker has very tight corporate merchandising standards, and exposed me to a whole side of merchandising I had no experience with: softgoods. I eventually decided to return to Sport Chalet after a brief time, but I consider myself lucky to have spent the time at Foot Locker, having retained many valuable lessons I now used to make my return more successful....

I feel the secret is just to be moviated and eager to work.
