What did you learn along the way at Fidelity Investments?

Over the last several years at Fidelity, I have had the the opportunity to speak with many customers in regards to their benefit plans. In my most recent role, I was responsible for emergency type situations. Working through these issues and providing 100% resolution has made me a stronger individual. I have learned that it is not just getting the job done that counts but providing a quality service to those individuals . A wide variety of challenges associated with such a large system implementation as Oracle ERP that included OE, WIP, INV, FIN, and MRP modules.

What are the most challenging aspects of your job at Fidelity Investments?

The most challenging aspects of the position was dealing with the hectic pace of the environment. It was certainly baptism by fire, but I more than excelled at my job. I was involved with dealing with Senior Vice Presidents and Vice Presidents within the marketing department on a daily basis. My boss had an immensely busy schedule every day, so I needed to make sure that her calendar was always correct and updated, and that everything was taken care of within a department of many people.

Another challenging aspect was in dealing with the unexpected. From conference rooms not being available to the death of a co-worker, I needed to always be on top of my game and be ready to deal with any crisis that may come my way.

How would you describe what you did at Fidelity Investments?

I was responsible for all usability efforts related to a major redesign and repurposing project. These usability efforts included but were not limited to consulting with Information Architects as they created wireframes of the new designs, recruiting all participants for 4 rounds of internal usability test sessions, working with an external recruiter to recruit participants for a lab based usability test, producing all testing materials, working with Visual Designers and Prototypers to ensure the prototype was in synch with the test scenarios, moderating the majority of all test sessions, collecting and analyzing test session data, making presentations to design team and business sponsor with findings and recommendations, and working with the design team to ensure approved recommendations were implemented into the design.... read more
