Responsible for maintain visual standards, merchandise availability, merchandise placement, fixture placement, wall arrangements, merchandising, lighting, marketing, signage, pricing, inventory control, scheduling, training.

I learned a lot while working there. I learned more about the retail industry, and more about people. It was a great experience for a first job.

Sometimes the Store Manager would do a little dance or cheer at morning meetings to get us motivated for sales and credit.

The best team I work with was during the first few months of my employment. I had a wonderful manager and great co-workers. We were like a big, happy family.

Some projects included doing mark-downs on merchandise, some involvement in floor changes, and helping out with inventory.

I first interviewed with one of the department managers, and then I interviewed with HR. I think the whole process took about 30 minutes before I was hired on the spot.

Having to deal with difficult customers at times, mainly during Christmas and Texas' Tax-Free Weekend. Sometime the hours were rough during those times as well, having to stay well after midnight.

I was responsible for greeting customers as they entered my department. I also would assist them finding any particular items that they were looking for, including going into the stockroom if need be. I also completed the sales at a register.
