What are the three best things about working at GNC?

The three best things about working at GNC:

1. Working face to face with the consumer- getting to interact with the customer and helping them meet their goals keeps me self-motivated.
2. Great working enviorment- co-workers and manager were very easy to get along with.
3. Getting to sell
supplements that I'm very knowledgeable about. You cannot be a good sales rep unless you're very knowledgeable about what you're trying to sell. I thrive on learning more and more about my product.... read more

What are the most challenging aspects of your job at GNC?

The most challenging aspects would be keeping the gold card and multi-vitamin percents where the company wanted them for sales reps. This was difficult because you have to push the sale on occasion to the customer. How would you describe what you did at GNC?

I was a sales representative at GNC. My goal was to help our customers achieve their physically fit goals. I would give informative sales pitches on our product, in turn...it would be much easier for our customers to recognize the supplements they needed.
GNC also has a standard in sales, it
is to keep %'s up, Gold Cards at 12% and multivitmins at 14%. I exceeded their expectations at all times.... read more

What's the secret to getting hired at GNC?

Persistence and showing interest in the job. After my application was turned in and completed it's a must to follow-up. I like to follow up with the sales manager and let her know how interested I am at working toward a common goal with GNC.

Being outgoing, competitive, confident, personal, professional and friendly. Have an open attitude. Be able to communicate with different kinds of people. Able to summorize the person needs and then implement these needs. Have education on the products and knowledge on diseases. Be a self starter and able to work without much supervision.... read more

How would you describe what you did at GNC?

Daily communicated with senior management and regional manager. Met regional goal and competed with store across the region. Superivsed 3 to 4 sales associates. Trained employees how to best utilize the preferred corporate selling system. Met daily managemetn responsibilites maintaining sales floors, inventory, planograms, shipment records and problems, daily, weekly recording keeping on sales, quotas and new sales promotions. Able to develop staff and built productive teams. Consistently received certificates in the top five in sales, promotions and quotas in the region. Conducted conference calls to over 36 stores including store managers, senior managers and regional manager on education of products, sales and upsales.... read more

How would you describe what you did at GNC?

I would manage the store while the manager was gone which meant I would greet the customers when they came into the store, help the customers with any question they had, worked the cash register, and open and/or close the store.
