I think that having a specific skill will get you in the door, but you will fair much better with good intergerty, and treating people the way that you would like to be treated.

I am a welder and am presently in the postion of Safety Coordinator. As a Coordinator, I am responsible for the safety training of 110 personnel. I also work at resolving any safety related issues and work with vendors to make sure that my people have the right tools/equipment for their job.
