i interviewed at HNTB in cleveland in 19. with a degree in mechanical engineering, i was pretty skeptical about my chances. i interviewed with a gentleman by the name chuck dulic. this was before cad/autocad. i had rolls of mylar drawings with me and chuck seemed pretty impressed. i was then interviewed by arun shah, ultimately hired, working as a draftsman/technician. i worked at HNTB for the next 6 years, leaving in 1984. it was a great experience for me, not being out of the military over 2 years. i learned a lot, got a great reference from the gentleman in the HR department (howard, if i remember correctly) to work with the columbus, ohio ODOT office. had i gone back for my civil degree, chances are that i would have stayed with HNTB for years to come. if i remember correctly, ralph roberson was running the shop back then....
