Responsibilities * Reviewed and documented the network and application infrastructure in place at Securicor Omega Express (DHL). .....Drafting of an invitation to tender, seeking the provision of a fully managed network service. .....Participated in response analysis and short-listing phases. .....Creation of an in-depth feasibility study (technical & financial) to help SOE assess future development budget requirements. * Project co-ordination and team driving to ensure the correct and timely deployment of Citrix Metaframe at Notting Hill Housing Association in London (~500 users). * Project management and team driving at Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council: late Y2K migration of 20 Netware servers. * Design and implementation of a three point Cisco VPN for the benefit of the MRC : Southampton Hospitals Medical Research Centre. * Installation & maintenance of firewalls e.g. Novell BorderManager, Linux VCS * Upgrade of Novell networks: Groupwise, Netware 5 (full IP). * Installation of Windows NT servers together with Microsoft Exchange, and Back-Office. * Installation and support of various WAN links: Leased Line, Frame-Relay, ISDN. * Installation and maintenance of hubs, routers and switches: 3com and Cisco, Allied Telesyn.
Achievements * Assisted Hytec's technical director, Alan Hunt, in many presales duties, in order to clarify customer requirements and consequently offer more accurate solutions. * Coached staff to accomplish required tasks through effective team working. * Drove teams to reach deadline critical objectives when time and resources were scarce. * Successfully passed a number of certifications e.g. Microsoft NT MCSE and W2K Core modules, Citrix Metaframe CCA, Cisco's CCNP.
