I handled almost all of the mail at the company. Some of the employees metered their own mail, but most of it was left for me to meter. I also went around the office once a week and took inventory of any supplies that were needed. I also went into the kitchen and took stock of any supplies we needed there. The job carried quite a bit of responsibility, as there were ninety employees there....

I found the job posted at America's Job Bank and submitted my resume and a cover letter. I was punctual for my two interviews with my supervisor, wore a suit and tie and I was enthusiastic about my ability to perform the duties of the job.

I mainly opened, date stamped and sorted all the incoming mail and courier packages by department box. I also metered most of the outgoing mail and maintained the Pitney Bowes Mailing Meter. Important packages, such as medical records, were promptly given to the medical records clerk. I also delivered faxes to other employees, replaced printer cartridges, took inventory of office and kitchen supplies and sometimes performed high volume copying.
