The Hochschule f??r J??dische Studien is an institution unique in Germany, at which a wide variety of courses in Jewish Studies are offered. In addition to the classic texts of Judaism, such as the Bible and Talmud, students can study Jewish history, literature, and philosophy, as well as languages such as Hebrew, Aramaic and Yiddish. The range of courses even includes Jewish art.
The HfJS views itself as the successor of the great institutions of Jewish scholarship that existed in Germany in the years before the Second World War, in particular of the Hochschule f??r die Wissenschaft des Judentums ("College of the Science of Judaism") in Berlin. Over the past twenty-two years, the HfJS has managed to become the leading center of Jewish scholarship in Germany...
