How would you describe what you did at Hunter Douglas?

Designed several plastic molded parts and assemblies for Silhouette and Vignette window shades hardware. Created new improved Universal Cord Tensioner with new look, slimmer profile. Estimated to save company $750k per year. Created new Integrated Clutch to reduce light gaps and eliminate dependency on purchased assemblies. Proposed several new design ideas: Roller Tube Governors, Universal Rotator, Automatic Skew Adjuster. Conducted tolerance analyses on Nantucket Child-Safe hardware. Applied engineering principles to select materials, predict failure modes. Used CAD software (SDRC/IDEAS) to conceptualize designs, create assemblies, generate rapid prototypes, create BOM's. Applied method of GD & T to part dimensioning. Coordinated pilot runs. Formulated test protocols and qualification test plans.... read more
