Experiences at ICI Paints

putting paint in to warehouse picking bins,so order pickers could pull orders,moving old stock out first,loading and unloading trucks,pulling orders

Whether or not to run particular batches at the end of the week without having to run into overtime. Since 2nd shift is the last shift of the week, and we have to clean up and close down the plant.

Trying to maintain a good working environment.

Currently I have been the Team Leader on 2nd shift over the filling department for the past 8 years. This department is responsible for filling certain batches of paint into either 5 gallon, 1 gallon, quarts, 55 gallon drums, or 275 gallon containers.

Currently, anyone seeking employment with ICI Paints would have to go through a temporary agency.

We deal with a variety of customers in all walks of the contracting business, so being able to adapt to so many different personalities and jobs areas is unique and definately a challenge. Working in management is a challenge at my company because I take the responsibility many different job titles. I am accounts payable/receivable, billing, and local human resources....

I started out 8 years ago as a part time employee. After 1 year I worked my way into a full time associate position and from there into branch management 2 1/2 years later. So far Ive been in management for four years. I help customers make good decisions for all of their projects and jobs. I visit job sites to calculate square footage for customers and to evaluate complaints and resolve them....

Quickly promoted through the ranks from a delivery driver to store manager and eventually an outside sales representative. I decided upon leaving as I felt outside sales wasn't my strong-point. Though I had a successful territory and strong references from the vice-president of sales I decided I would take a server job at a high end restaurant in Chicago until my planned move to the Northwest....
