I learned a great deal while I attended Illinois State University. In addition to learning in the classroom, I feel I learned more outside of the classroom. It was through those experiences that I learned what makes great management personnel -learning what makes people tick. By observing the many people I came across throughout my collegiate career, I learned that no one thing motivates all people. You need to learn about the individuals to learn what motivates them. Once you do this you can make your business not only grow and survive but thrive within any marketplace....

I started as a Visual Arts major / Communications minor. I was particularly active in drawing and photography, but loved ceramics, graphic design and Art History as well. I did black & white promo shots for ISU theater, was a contributor to "First Teacher Magazine" and "National Black Child Advocate." I switched to Elementary Education because I was a single mother of three daughters and was concerned about my employment prospects as an artist/photographer....

Completed my Bachelor's Degree in Education.

I ACQUIRED MY MASTERS DEGREE IN PSYCHOLOGY WITH AN INITIAL EMPHASIS ON COUNSELING, STATS AND EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN. I THEN WENT ON TO COMPLETE A SECOND DEGREE (ALL BUT THESIS) IN INDUSTRIAL/ORGANIZATIONAL PSYCHOLOGY

I, along with a friend of mine, started the Tri-Birds Triathlon Club at ISU. We created the opportunity fro Tri-athletes to get together to work out, share information, and have fun together. As far as I know the club is still active and doing quite well.
