What's the secret to getting hired at
Kent Daniels Agency?
First, knowing exactly what Kent Daniels specializing in will help! Kent Daniels wears both hats of being a temporary agency and also a permanent placement recruiter. They have alot of appeal, however, being unique as they are more of a boutique office with high-profile clients. (Kent Daniels handles primarily legal clientele, such as many well-known large firms in the downtown LA and west LA areas. The Kent Daniels Agency is seeking talented individuals, with strong computer skills and customer service for their law firm clientele). If you are looking for the secret to getting hired as a temporary employee, for example, being a secretary, Lit Support, IT or other assistance, your best bet would be knowing various law firm applications, Docs Open, iManage, and other document management programs, also MacPac (an application within Microsoft Word), Excel, PowerPoint, Word, WordPerfect, Carpe Diem (or DTE also known as timekeeping programs for attorneys and paralegals), Adobe Acrobat, etc. Before applying make sure to know your stuff, like how to do even core tasks, such as understanding what a style is in Word and how it is used in a document, and also Word's auto-numbering. If you get those concepts down, type well and are very conscientious, then that's the best "secret" to apply in being hired by Kent Daniels. The other note: if you don't know anything in the legal area as far as software is concerned, don't "wing" it! And also, if looking for IT work, the same applies! Before getting your interview, be as thorough as you can in how some firms legal applications work...not just the Microsoft Suite, but things that are unique, like "Interaction," "LegalKey", etc. (Interaction is a contact database that works in conjunction with an Outlook user's contacts...and LegalKey is a program where you can create labels for files (aka redwells, aka wallets and subfolders), request a "wallet" to be delivered, see the status of current client files (including location), and also to search for documents, etc. Please note that this company, though, if you want to be hired as a temporary or permanently placed, they will work hard with you and for you to get you into great law firms and are great to team up with! I enjoy them because they remember you! They treat you with respect, work hard to get you what you need when you need it and know what law firms you'd be best for! It's a win-win!...
