What are the most challenging aspects of your job at Los Angeles Times?

The most challenging was staying on top of the game. There were many changes as far as how many calls to make per hour per day and how to ensure the happiness of each subscriber no matter the circumstance.

What I did for Los Angeles Times was somewhat tiresome but at the same time pretty exciting. You never know what to expect when making outbound calls to so many subscribers in a day.

How would you describe what you did at Los Angeles Times?

-Assisting many office personnel including Retail Sales Manager, Operations Manager, Home Delivery District Manager, Operations Supervisor, and Account Managers with various office reports, and general office duties.
-Daily payroll hard copy for 80 employees including hours and mileage,
including reconciliation.
-Tracking insurance files for delivery drivers including current policies, payments, and licenses in order to keep records current and easily utilized by mangers when necessary.
-Tracking complaints via computer system reporting results to District Manager.
-Posting run cards to account for delivery amounts and investigating any excessive variances.
-Creating forms and spreadsheets to help better the efficiency rate for the Center.

Accomplishments: Holding this position helped me to gain some insight into the Human Resource Department, Accounting, and Payroll. I learned to work with multiple schedules, tasks, and deadlines. These skills helped me to train other staff members who transferred into the Distribution Office.

responsible for securing new subscriptions to increase the daily circulation numbers for the newspaper. Responsible for motivating, and training a 12 man outside sales team and holding 2 weekly team meetings in assigned territory.

How much coffee do you drink daily at Los Angeles Times?

1 or 2 a day. I must have an eye-opener (coffee and a shot of espresso) every morning. I haven't had one this morning and I'm dragging.
