Experiences at Maple Hill Rest Home

I worked very well with Bethany and Michelle. They were down to earth and very cool. We never had problems and we had things in common and could talk about whatever.

I was reccomended by my mother who was one of the RPs.

Some advice I'd give a new employee is to just ignore the residents who give you problems becuse most likely they're either drunk or on meds.

I learned to focuse on your tasks and get things done and then relax .

The three best things about working at Maple Hill was the pay ($8.00/hr.), the easiness, and the entertainment (cool co-workers and funny residents)

I think the hardest problem I ever had to solve was a personal problem I had with this certain co-worker who had the baddest attitude and slick tongue. He always seemed to have something to say about my performance and what I did.Just anything he could pinpoint he would critisize me about it. But one day I couldnt take it anymore so I just blew up and we started arguing. But after awhile I decided to make truths and to confront him on a basic level so put all our problems to the side....

The most challengiing aspects of the job was the fact of having to deal with the oncoming traffic of the residents when they are always requesting certain foods and I would be busy with my goals of the day, so sometimes I would fall behind and lose track of time. But another challenging aspect was having to deal with the residents who caused problems. Some of them had medical problems and some jus had plain bad attitudes but I had to deal with it as best as I could....

I cooked simple breakfast, lunch, and dinner for elders. I also washed dishes, wiped down counters and tables, swept,mopped and put away weekly groceries.

Well I actually was reccomended by my mother, who was a CNA there.
