The three things that I enjoy best about working at MRMP are as follows:
1. Meeting the children and watching them excel beyond the limitations of thier circumstances

What's the toughest problem you've had to solve at Mentor Role Model Program?

Upon taking over this position I noticed that there was no computer system in place to track very important information. Using modern technology, I implemented a new tracking system that helps our office run more efficiently and organized.

What are the most challenging aspects of your job at Mentor Role Model Program?

In light of our countries critical economical times, non-profit agencies are suffering when it concerns donations. Our office is constantly using lateral thinking to find ways to procure funds to keep our agency where it needs to be each year. This is by far challenging but not impossible.

How would you describe what you did at Mentor Role Model Program?

As the Service Coordinator for MRMP, I am very involved in the day-to-day operations. My main responsibilty is to make sure that every child in the program is matched with a suitable Mentor. I maintain files and business correspondence as well as keeping some financial records. There are also times when I have to fill in for the Executive Director in regards to public speaking engagements to provide information about the program to business/industry or local organizations.... read more

What's the secret to getting hired at Mentor Role Model Program?

In my opinion the secret to getting hired at Mentor Role Model Program is to have a strong passion for helping children. If you are passionate about what you do then inevitably it will come across in your work. MRMP is a matching service for children labeled as "at risk". I would suggest that this term is a misnomer. I believe that every child has that special light deep inside-only there are some children waiting for that special person to come along to simply turn on the switch.
