What's the funniest thing that ever happened to you at Messiah College?

I attended Messiah College as a "mature adult student." I was the only student in my age group in my particular major, so quite often I was the oldest person in the class, sometimes older than the professor. My funniest experiences all had to do with being an older student. For example, in my Human Sexuality class I was probably 15 years older than the professor. When he would ask a question that was of a sensitive nature, if no one would answer he would say, "Lois, what can you tell us about.......?" The entire class would look at me. I would give them a detailed, honest, easy to comprehend answer. This was somewhat uncomfortable for me at first because we were talking about sex at a Christian college where sex was a taboo topic. After the second time I was looked to for an answer, I decided to go for it. While there were some giggles in the class, I had many students come to me and thank me for being willing to share and for being so very honest.... read more

How would you describe what you did at Messiah College?

I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Behavior Family Life Science. I minored in Marriage and Family Therapy. I focused on communication and interpersonal skills. I earned my provisional certification as a Certified Family Life Educator. I graduated Cum Laude after three years at Messiah.
