I'm really not aware of any secret. In order to get hired at Microsoft you should obtain as many technical skills as you can in the field that you are interested in and simply apply.

Networking is key to getting hired at Microsoft. It is also key to staying employed at Microsoft.

Knowing your skill set and how it applys to the positions desired. Keep your network up to date and don't be afraid to connect with those who are "connected". Some of the best candidates and clients I worked with came from personal networking and referrals.
