Students juggling academics, jobs, and sometimes children, frequently struggle with personal and/or time management issues. I have the opportunity to help them prioritize their responsibililties, give them academic support, encourage them with positive feedback, and, ultimately, affect a change in attitude. When students are fully committed and succeed, they can achieve Phi Theta Kappa (national CC Honor Society) status and transfer to a 4-year school with scholarships. Suddenly, life has new opportunities they never dreamed would be available to them. It's hard to beat the satisfaction that working with students-at-risk affords.... read more
