Come into the interview with a flexible approach to teaching and a willingness to hear and share information with others about educational theory and practice. How would you describe what you did at Morris Tutoring?

As Front Office Assistant, I schedule clients by matching them with a tutor that will fit their individual needs. This is a complicated task involving up to 18 tutors with limited availability and 90 students who have multiple extra-curricular activities to consider. In this capacity, I am also responsible for general clerical duties including light bookkeeping, account reconciliation, billing, and the familiarization with and organization of educational resources and materials.
In the role of tutor, I offer individualized educational assistance to students with varying needs and learning abilities. My work is focused on math and science for college-bound students, but I also work with motivated special needs students who wish to improve their life skills through better learning. Test preparation skills are another area I focus on. I assist students in learning how to take specific types of standardized tests for preparatory academies and colleges.
