Experiences at New Britain-Berlin YMCA

The 3 best things about working in childcare for me are the praises of appreciation from parents, the idea of knowing I am making an impact on a young child's life and the 3rd greatest reward is the pictures the kids draw for me!

The toughest problem I have encountered is having to remove a student from the program for constant disruptive behavior. He started to become a threat to the safety of other sstudents.

The most challenging aspect at the Afterschool Program are students who become easily distracted and "antsy" during homework time. Another challenging aspect is communicating with some parents.

I oversee 20 students and an assistant teacher at an Afterschool Program. I am responsible for providing them snack, a safe enviorment to do their homework and have a good time.
