How would you describe what you did at Norlite Nursing Center?

I am a charge nurse on a wing of 23 residents. My duties consist overseeing the care of the residents that is performed by 2-3 Cenas. I am responsible for Acuchecks, VS. skin assessments and weights on bath days. I administer daily medications. I also monitor residents for signs and symptoms of pain and discomfort and offer relief . It is my responsibility to report any changes in residents condition to the RN supervisor and or the Dr. , and document on these changes and the outcome of any steps taken to resolve a problem. I accept Drs. orders over the phone, and write the orders in the MARs. I am also a patient advocate.... read more

What did you learn along the way at Norlite Nursing Center?

I feel that everyday I am a nurse, I am constantly learning. I think I learn something new everyday. I was always told in Nursing school, that you will not learn how to be a nurse until you ARE a nurse. I find this to be true. Working with the elderly is very challenging, but makes you stop and think that everyone is someones child. mother, father, sister or brother, mom or dad, and everyone has a past life that was important to them.... read more
