At PR Newswire, I learned that you musn't ever let yourself settle into your job too much. By this, I mean that one must always push themselves to do more, exceed their manager's expectations and look for ways to improve their performance. In this very large company, I found myself unhappy being overlooked and unrecognized. It was then that I realized it was my sole responsibility to be a standout member of my editorial team. I edited multiple press releases and financial earnings reports daily, distributing them nationally/internationally and to thousands of online media sources. In this extremely deadline driven environment, I maintained positive customer relationships and expanded my knowledge of sales and marketing as well. How would you describe what you did at PR Newswire?

- Duties as editor and senior editor included proofreading press releases for publicly traded and private companies, non-profits and other organizations in a four-state region and preparing them for distribution to media outlets, online databases and financial disclosure points; client consultation, including complementary suggestive selling and assisting PR professionals in opportunities for them to get more pick up of their messages; as well as various supervisory functions, such as performing final checks on press releases for other editors, troubleshooting client issues and escalating them as needed and contributing to the weekly bureau editorial report.
